So your thinking about jumping on board with a new iPhone and you might be wondering what cell phone company has the best data plan available. This is really a tricky question considering that most major wireless networks are constantly changing what they offer on almost a monthly basis. Just keep in mind in most cases you will have to agree with a two year contract when signing up for any wireless plan, data or no data. The best thing to look for is unlimited data plans. When Verizon first introduced the iPhone on their network they offered an unlimited plan for $29 per month but now only offer 2 gigs of data. The nice thing about Verizon as opposed to most carriers is that you won’t be majorly penalized if you go over the allotted amount of data. They will simply upgrade you to the next lever, usually about $10 more a month. The downside is that Verizon tends to be the most expensive wireless carrier out there. But on the other hand they have fantastic coverage that actually works, unlike other carriers with weak signals. I won’t mention any names but the company name starts with an A.
Now, on the other hand Sprint now carries the iPhone and they have probably one of the best deals at the time of this post which is a $79 all you can eat plan. I would say that’s probably the best iphone data plan out there right now. I also think, and don’t quote me on this, that sprint has an agreement with Verizon to roam on their network so you get the best of both worlds, lower price and great coverage.

The only other company at this time to support the iPhone is AT&T. They were the first to offer the iPhone when it first came out if you recall. Their plans are competitive but depending on the area you live in really depends on the coverage your going to get. The best thing to do is ask them if you can test it out for seven days and give it a try in your area. Make sure you get that in writing though otherwise you may be stuck with a two year contract, ouch.

So really you have only three choices for an iPhone data plan when it comes to wireless companies offering service for the iPhone. If you do decide to use one of them sign up for the lowest data plan and make sure you can upgrade later on with no additional expense. With the wi-fi capability of the iPhone you may not have to use that much data from the wireless network to begin with considering all of the hot spots available now a days.
